RoseMary’s
Antiques has been in business for 8 years. But RoseMary started out at a young
age selling many of the not quite antique items when they were new to the
market.
Working after school in her father’s store, she was thrilled to help with the
unpacking of straw filled boxes coming from places such as Zanesville, Ohio ,
Southern California, Japan and England. These boxes were filled with wonderful
porcelains and potteries silver and crystal that are now highly collectible.
She came to recognize and appreciate the different styles as appealing to
different tastes.
While enjoying the results of this education by osmosis over the years, she did
not put her knowledge to use until she retired in the 1990’s . A serendipitous
search for fine china for her garden club’s annual tea party brought all that
knowledge to the forefront. She found herself with an excess of china and began
to sell online through auctions.
Finding that method unsuited to her, she started her own online shop and placed
some of her choice items in a case in an
antique
mall. Her business has grown to a full size 850 square feet of display space
and her online site contains over 3500 items. Her website is an eclectic mix of
fine china, pottery, silver and crystal. There are also primitives and oddity
collectibles. Appreciating the different styles and tastes, she has never
settled onto just one type of collection. There is beauty and desirability in
so many things and each appeals to a different sort of person.
RoseMary’s favorite reading is reference books on the latest antique or
collectible she is interested in. An extensive reference library lines her
walls and stacks her rooms.
So many people have questions about what they have inherited or what they
instinctively like and have acquired that she wants to share with them some of
her snippets of information.
Research on a particular item may take hours or days, and is not something that
can be done by a business without charge. But, in these pages you may find the
very answer you have been looking for, or a way to further your search for
information.
